May 2020. “Uncanny: The Dolls of Mariana Monteagudo” was declared “Official Winner” of PBS film-maker project 2020. As a result, the film will be streamed nationwide this year, starting in Florida on June 16.

 

The documentary has already won twelve film awards from festivals in the US and Canada since it was first released in 2018. Festivals include: Fort Lauderdale Film Festival, Miami Independent Film Festival, Female Eye Film Festival (Canada), among others.

 

Produced by filmmaker Elaine Minionis, the documentary closely follows Mariana through the creation of her series “Uncanny”.

• WXEL – Thursday, June 18 at 5:30 pm
