Mariana Monteagudo creates distinctive figurative sculptures that bring together found materials, cultural references, and unexpected forms.
Drawing from Latin American visual traditions, pre-Columbian references, and contemporary culture, Monteagudo has developed a recognizable sculptural language that moves between the playful and the unsettling.
Her work is held in the collections of the Museum of Latin American Art (MOLAA) and the Everson Museum of Art. Her artistic practice is also the subject of an Emmy Award–winning documentary broadcast on PBS.
